How did we get in touch with them? They were one of our partners at the Lake’s Fashion Days this year and did bring us some great designers. As they are very creative which you will see when reading the interview we thought we should put them a bit more ‘in the picture’.

1. Who are you and why has ‘fashion’ become part of your life?
I am Regine and one of the founding member of www.nelou.com. My business partner Boris, a graphic designer had a few designer friends and decided it was time for everyone to know about those beautiful items they create. I realized, while I was in Bangladesh working for the Grameen Bank, that there is a huge market for independent design worldwide. Wearing big brands’ clothes is out – those were the 90´s. Now, individuality in the way we dress ourselves is key to our personality.

2. Please try to tell us in close to 50 words what ‚NELOU‘ is all about!
The idea of nelou is to create a fashion village. Everyone, anywhere in the world should be able to wear whatever they like. For that we need to be able to access fashion from around the world. So nelou brings together designers and consumers. Dressing the way you like is now a walk in the park!!!

3. What are your daily working activities for ‘NELOU’?
More and more fashion events want us as partners, so we are very busy with selecting the right designer for the events. For example during Berlin Fashion Week we were partners of the Ramazzotti Runway Award. The winner was one of our labels.
We are just in the process of launching a magazine in print and online. The first fashion magazine from which the products are purchasable. Otherwise we do a lot of marketing and improving the website.

4. Please tell us which project are coming up!
We are partners of the MQ Vienna Fashion Week which takes place this year in September, so we are getting ready for that. Also we are very busy with the launch of our new magazine. The Ring and nelou will also be working together on fashion events in 2011. Sooo many things that are happening. The platform is constantly changing as well – so that is an ongoing project!!

5. Tell us about your most remarkable experiences in the fashion industry!
The Lake’s Fashion Days as well as the Ramazzotti Runway Award during Berlin Fashion Week were definitely some of our highlights. We only started this company beginning of 2011 but it is going soooo well. More and more events want to partner with us. The quality of designer we present on our website is increasing. We currently present 300 designers from 16 countries and over 3000 products.

6. Are there any trends you see in the fashion industry which you want to share with us?
Green Fashion, independent fashion, young fashion is more on the radar of people than ever. Lady Gaga is on of the main supporters of young and independent design and that becomes more relevant to you and I by the day!!! Hence we started nelou.tv – a talk show kind of format where we introduce the designers behind the label in a more funny kind of way. People want to identify with the designers whose clothes they are wearing. Here on example: Interview with Dörte Kaufmann:

7. Why should people visit www.nelou.com?
If you want to express your own style, be independent of trends and just really express yourself, nelou is the place for you. We have designers from 16 countries – hence a rather diverse set of trends. You can also get to know the designers whose clothes you are wearing by watching nelou.tv.

1. Who are you?

2. What do you like about what you do?
Being creative… This is what I love since being a child. I always used to draw, to sing, to play instruments or to write…Also a good thing is to get in touch with lots of different people around the world. And also working with people, who feel the same passion for art like me.

3. What don’t you like about what you do?
Hm, this is a difficult question. I think there is nothing I don´t like…. maybe sometimes there is too much work, but on the other side this is also a good point. Haha…

4. Please tell us about ‘C-Heads Magazine’, include your strategy and tell us about your future goals and target groups

C-Heads Magazine is all about photography, music, art, fashion, trends and lifestyle. We show talents, newcomers and well-known artists from all over the world. We think, that art is an important part of life. The playful side of life. Breathtaking pictures tell stories. Music that touches and supplies the soundtrack of life. Fashion that can show, who you are and what you want to express. Art that shows our individuality and connects us to each other.

Our target group are people around the world who are interested in any kind of art. A big target group of course are artists themselves, like stylists, make-up artists, fashion designers, musicians, illustrator and so on… the list is long.

A special point in our magazine is, that there is a chance for everyone to get into the magazine. This is our Be-Inside concept. We don´t mind f.e. if you are a star photographer or someone who just loves doing photography during your free time. When at the end the pictures are what we like you can make it into the magazine.
Future Goals: it would be great if we could get more and more well-known and of course it would be great if we can continue doing what we love and live from it. We would love to have C-Heads Magazine also in a printed version at one point! But this is really talking about the future.

5. How is ‘C-Heads Magazine’ positioned?
The good thing is, C-Heads Magazine was the first Austrian Online Magazine. We started this project, when the idea was still fresh and new. So we are like a primary rock in that scene.

6. Are you working with blogs/websites and if yes, what is your favourite one and why?
Being honest, I am not so much into blogs any more. I owned a blog myself some time ago. But at the moment there are too many of them, and most of them are repeating the information.

7. Your experiences with the creative industry in general?
In my opinion the international creative industry is mostly very professional , well organised and open minded. So i have lots of good experiences with it.

8. Which future trends do you see for the creative industry, especially in Austria?
I think that Austria´s creative scene is going to getting more and more attention in the future. There is a lot of potential in the new generation. I hope that the scene will be able to progress by opening their borders. Working together more and more tolerance between the different scenes is an important part of that.

9. Your TOP 3 magazines and why?
TUSH Magazine is awesome. Full with very good high quality and innovative fashion photography. I also like ID Magazine and V Magazine. They are always so colourful and fresh in a way.

10. Any comments you want to share with us?
Yeah, maybe strange, but everyone should try to make this planet into a heavens place…. so it´s all about love. Thanks a lot for the interview!

1. Who are you?
My name is Gerhard Langer, founder and senior editor of destinationhotel.de, an online magazine for sophisticated travelling and lodging.

2. Please tell us about ‘destinationhotel.de’ and your aims?
destinationhotel.de is an online information source, not another hotel booking platform. Our focus is to inspire and inform our readers about destinations, hotels, aviation and all the services related to travel. We offer interviews with owners, managers & architects, present new concepts and take a look behind the curtain. The appearance of destinationhotel.de is clear and elegant, the handling intuitive. And, due to the fact, that we don´t earn our money from the booking machines of the hotels, we are independent.

3. What do you like about what you do?
I know it´s hard to believe – nearly everything ! My job offers me the possibility to travel and discover new places and people, do research and write articles for likeminded people. The work on the website claims my creativity and the collaboration with so many interesting and different people from all over the world, amazes me every single day.

4. What don’t you like about what you do?
Too little time for so many things to explore …

5. Are you working with blogs?
We are planning on starting our own blog (www.blog.destinationhotel.de). It will feature a daily news update, video reports and interviews, audio programme and an own iphone/ipod touch version.

6. Your experiences with the hotel industry and its developments in general?
As long as the rooms and suites are fully booked, as long as the RevPar climbs every month, only a few in the premium travel sector were really interested in new concepts, developments and services. The actual economic crisis, which affects the travel industry in every part of the world very differently, forces the hotels, airlines and destinations to reconsider their strategy. The start of destinationhotel.de comes along with that change in the travel industry – so we have a lot to inform about, discuss and hopefully recommend. That is also the reason why we like „The Ring“ so much – a new and very exciting design and service concept in one of the most sophisticated markets worldwide.

7. Any comments you want to share with us?
´Geiz ist eben doch nicht geil´ or in english ´you get what you pay for´.
