Boutique and design hotels are still a hot trend in hospitality. Guests do search constantly for that unique hotel, either by design or by size, either as it is run by Bulgari, Missoni or Armani, either by the number of good reviews, either by the fact that these hotels offer facilities, services and special events that larger chain hotels do not offer. From 2 stars to 5 stars, these boutique or design hotels provide their guests with the ultimate experience.

Last week we met with Vanessa Gürtler, together with her boyfriend she produces a vodka called Wodka Wanessa. At our Drings Bar we promote and sell over 50 brands but we never came across a brand where we also were able to meet the producer him-/herself … the talks we had were very interesting, and the vodka also, that is why we decided to offer her an interview on our blog. 1. Please try to describe yourself in 10 words!

Social business is not new. It is an existing business model that does not strive to maximize profits but rather to serve humanity’s most pressing needs. Thus, the first motive of social business is not profit, and it does not pay its investors dividends. Instead, it aims at solving social problems with products and services at affordable prices, or giving the poor and marginalized people ownership in a business and allow them to share in its profits. As usual, like we do nothing else … we came across the website www.stadtkinder.com. This site seemed to be new (it is, it was launched early 2011), we looked at it, found it very interesting and useful, especially for people planning to visit Vienna or those who want to stay updated on highlights, events, parties etcetera. So we met Michael Kamleitner of ‘Stadtkinder’, talked about what we could do together and decided to promote him and the site on our

Yes, Vienna has its own film festival, it is called “Viennale” and takes place every year in October in several pre-picked cinemas in the city centre of Vienna, in 2011 it will celebrate its 10th anniversary. It is also one of the oldest and well-known festivals in Germany/Austria/Switzerland and has an international orientation combined with a distinctive urban flair. Approximately close to 100.000 people do visit this festival every year. In its main program, the “Viennale” shows a carefully picked

“The first edition of WAVES VIENNA was a pertinent reminder that there is a music industry in central and eastern Europe which rarely gets talked about. The entire region needs a professionally organized music conference and festival, and a platform where local musicians can showcase their talent. WAVES VIENNA clearly fulfills this mandate, and I very much look forward to returning to next year´s event.” Mirko Whitfield (SXSW, Austin, Texas, US) Waves Vienna 2011 was definitely a great success, over

Beginning of this year we ‘hooked up’ with Michael Bonadies, President and CEO of 21c Museum Hotel, an amazing hotel we discovered as we were searching for some ‘extra-ordinary’ hotels in the US to get featured on our blog. Michael is, according to his questions, someone who really fits to this hotel. 1. Who are you? I’m Michael Bonadies, President and CEO of 21c Museum Hotel. For most of my career I was a partner in New York City’s Myriad

Vienna has a lot to offer. That is why there is no lack of good images … how great Vienna is can now be seen at the new website www.imaginevienna.at. This new initiative has been brought to life by the editorial department of www.wien.at, this also counts for the image community. On this new platform “WienerInnen” and “Wiener” do show how they see, explore and experience e.g. observe their city. Their images should show the quality of life in Vienna,

Searching through the web we came across www.yelp.at and discovered that 2 of our hotels were already listed here. Hence we searched further and … got in touch with Andreas Rainer, Community & Marketing Manager of Yelp in Vienna. We invited him for lunch and talked a bit about what Yelp is all about and what cross-marketing opportunities there are for hotels in general via Yelp. It was so interesting that we decided to ask him for an interview on our

Like every year in September the Austrian capital strikes a pose as fashion designers, buyers and fashionistas rush to the Museums Quartier for the MQ Vienna Fashion Week, presented by Vöslauer. Fashion shows, exhibitions and parties provide a chance for national and international designers to show their latest creations and mingle with Vienna’s beautiful people. This year the MQ Vienna Fashion Week takes place from September 14th-18th for the third time and shows a large variety of designers from Austria
