Always looking for creative people, bloggers, designers, urban nomads, yes we do, constantly. Doing that we come across different people and platforms, the one we discovered last week is called ‘Nectar@Pulse’. In our opinion a unique approach towards a city guide, not the standard ones we know but really a personal one, based on the knowledge of so-called ‘soul mates’ within a city … this platform also has a blog, yep, 2 reasons for us to ask them (Carina & Tanja) for an interview on our blog, get to know ‘Nectar@Pulse’:
1. Please try to describe yourself in 5 words that fit to you.
Bon-Vivants, Designers, Urban-Nomads, Freaks & Entrepreneurs.
2. Tell us a bit about your platform ‘Nectar&Pulse’, when it started and what it is all about!
We founded NECTAR & PULSE in February 2010 but the idea developed the years before while traveling and moving from one city to the next. – We have traveled around the world but never found a guide which really satisfied our needs – so we decided to create our own as we saw there was a gap in the market.
We create personal cityguides based on the insider tips of selected locals. You go on our website, browse through our “local soulmates” and look who fits best to your own lifestyle or interests. In personal interviews, our „local soulmates“ talk about their passions, favourite music, and other interests in life. You choose the local soulmates whose tastes and views you feel are most similar to yours, and their 25 insider tips are added to your own/individualised loose-leaf binder (collector) and sent to you.
3. We noticed that ‘Nectar&Pulse’ also has a blog, why?
Authenticity is an important value for us. Our blog helps to communicate our journey as passionate traveller and curious entrepreneurs. It shows our “behind the scenes” content, our personal point of view and that we really live the values of our brand NECTAR & PULSE.
4. Why did you decide to give your platform this name?
NECTAR is a synonym for something special, sweet, hard to find, luxurious, high class. PULSE is a synonym for the vibrant Pulse of a city and the pulse, which gets higher when you meet people you share the same mindset – your soulmates. Our guides help to uncover a city with all its subcultures, its secret delights, and hidden treasures.
The two together make the perfect mix – like two people who fit together really well. We both got a tattoo with our brand-name as a sign for our commitment regarding success and friendship. Tanja is Nectar. Carina is Pulse.
5. Have you ever come across a blog that you thought was interesting and if yes, which one and why?
There are a couple of blogs we find interesting and look to for inspiration. It’s impossible to just mention one.
6. What is your personal opinion about exploring a blog? Does it make sense and if yes, why?
In general we think it’s a good thing that more and more people create stuff and write about their opinions and easily (cheaply) get an audience for it via blogs and social networks. But it feels that there is a flood of bloggers and blogs since years now. Many are very similar to each other, which makes the scene quite boring. We like blogs with a certain/unusual topic and with high quality (and really personal) content. We are bored by blogs of girls saying: Look today I wore this and tomorrow I gonna wear that, …
7. What are your favourite cities and why?
Changes constantly. Right now: Istanbul, Stockholm and Munich.
8. What are the future plans for ‘Nectar&Pulse’?
NECTAR & PULSE will become an international lifestylebrand. We aim for having offices in Munich, Stockholm, Berlin and New York. We produce cityguides for hundreds of different cities/locations and create additional products inspired by traveling.
We will have an inspiring design studio combined with a little café, gallery and NECTAR & PULSE flagship store. We will make collaborations with other brands, artists and passionate individuals.
9. Any comments you would like to share with us?
“You only live once. Make sure it’s enough.”
“Taste the NECTAR. Feel the PULSE. Explore the path of your local soulmates.”
