It´s Blogging Time! On November 13th, 2010 the World Blogging Forum (WBF), an international blogger convention will take place in Vienna. Close to 200 participants from more than 14 countries will come together at the HQ of the company A1 Telekom Austria (hosted partner) to discuss about the future of digital media production, usage as well as posting possibilities.

“Today almost everyone can generate digital content, share it via social media and open a public discussion about it”, says Ritchie Pettauer, co-organizer of WBF 2010 in Vienna. “The usage of social media is changing rapidly”, he says, and he is right. There is a real boom in social media, you see individuals starting up their own private blog, corporate blogs, which are becoming more professional, are coming up more and more and people start using social media networks like Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Foursquare but also review sites more in detail. He adds: “It is the discussion forum that makes this year´s WBF so important, it is really vital that people are involved and that a lively communication & discussion process takes place. That is why we decided to have several group sessions in order to encourage active personal involvement. Keynote speakers and participants shall equally contribute information, share their knowledge and develop scenarios for the digital world of the future.” Participants include the world´s top bloggers such as Eric Dupin, spokesman of Citroën and one of the most well-known bloggers in France, Matthias Lüfkens, former business journalist and associate at the World Economic Forum in Davos, as well as Mihaela Draghici, organizer of the World Blogging Forum 2009 in Bucharest.

Attending the WBF is free for bloggers but is limited to 200 in order to keep the high level of effective exchange of ideas and knowledge. In order to attend participants must run their own blog. The program offers some interesting parts like “Global Communication Trends 2010 to 2020″, “Evolving Prosumers: trends in media usage / production the next 10 years”.
