The Young Hotelier Award (YHA) is about fostering the most talented young hotelier in the 5 star luxury hotel scene in Vienna, the one that attracts attention through outstanding performance and devotion to his/her job. Contestants will be trained by industry professionals and are to present a chosen topic in written memoranda and oral argumentations to a prestigious jury, consisting of experts and leaders from Austria’s hospitality industry and economy. The winner of the contest receives a scholarship at Cornell University in Ithaca, New York, a well known university for hospitality management in the US.
The 2 topics for the YHA 2010 are:
- Back to basics : how to improve customer satisfaction and service levels?
- Online hotel reviews : do reviews influence hotel revenue and how will the hotel manage this?
The Young Hotelier Award is an initiative of the GMC (General Managers Council) of the leading hotels in Vienna and powered by JohnsonDiversey.
The presentations for the YHA 2010 will be held at the hosting hotel Le Meridien on March 10th, 2010. More information on the history of YHA, the event itself as well as the partners of YHA can be found on the newly established website www.younghotelier.at
