Christoph Hemmelmayr (gourmetwiese.at)1. Who are you?
My name is Christoph Hemmelmayr, my friends just call me Chris. I love mountains and snow, just like a tiny ladybeetle sitting in the grass. I love to travel – meeting new people and getting to know new cultures. I love to go backcountry skiing – no noises, no people – just like lying on the beach and watching the sunset. I adore having a fabulous good and long dinner with my friends or family. I guess I am pretty normal, right?

2. What do you like about what you do?
I like everything I do, otherwise I would not do it. I especially like all the small things in life that make it so great – and I am thankful to be able to see them. I honestly admit if I like something.

3. What don’t you like about what you do?
I don’t like that there are some things that I have to do. This is the price you pay for being a grown-up. If I don’t like something, I say it as well.

4. Please tell us about www.gourmetwiese.at and your future goals?
The site www.gourmetwiese.at started as a perfect combination of 2 passions – writing and dining. After I came home from my exchange year in Montréal (I wrote a personal blog) – I wanted to continue writing – and I have always dreamed of being a restaurant reviewer – so this gave me the perfect opportunity. My future goal is to continue to evaluate also small and unknown restaurants – on a very personal level. Maybe www.gourmetwiese.at can grow in the future – always in respect of my personal principles.

5. Are you working with other blogs and if yes, what is your favourite blog?
Currently I am not actively working with other blogs – a friend of mine helped me to set up gourmetwiese – his blog: www.noledgebase.com

6. Your experiences with the overall food industry?
I don’t like the word “industry” in combination with food – that is not a good match. Normally I follow the rule: “the smaller the better” – this is applicable for restaurants, as well as for supermarkets. I support initiative like FairTrade – the social aspect should not be neglected when talking about food.

7. What are your most favourite restaurants?
I like a lot of restaurants – most of them are pretty small. Sometimes a club sandwich is better than a five-course-meal. There are a lot of different aspects for a good meal and a good restaurant – “good” is always very personal.

8. Any comments you want to share with us?
I think I already shared a lot of thoughts – comments are welcomed anytime ?
Thank you for this opportunity and I hope you enjoy www.gourmetwiese.at
